Millions of Dreads

Genre: Reggae, Ska, Dancehall

Millions Of Dreads is a “vernacular” reggae band based in Graz. Here, “vernacular” means Styrian, although the band’s two front men, Blessings and I-Razor, also sing in English, German, Spanish, and Patois. Their music style is also as diverse as their linguistic palette; beyond roots reggae, their sound is influenced primarily by dancehall, dub and D&B.
Since the band started out in 2006, they have performed over 300 concerts, both nationally and internationally, and have released one album, two EPs and three singles. In 2009, they also released the award-winning video “Schwoaza Mann” (Rocking Movie Awards 09, Content Award 09). The title of their 2011 second LP release, “Im Wandel” (translation: changing), hinted at the band’s continual evolution. The 15 new songs went straight to the heart of real life, celebrating such universal themes as love, freedom and diversity, and managing to include songs of social protest without resorting to the clichés and platitudes that sometimes mar this genre. In 2012, they released the single "Summazeit" and its accompanying video. An exciting sound that music fans won’t want to miss… especially in live performance!
